The US-based company claims that they are working in partnership with two former Apple engineers to face two essential issues when using wireless earbuds: their fit and their battery life.
ELWN Fit includes as much as 48 different pieces in their box, which can be assembled in up to 180 options for a perfect fit depending on the usage. We’re talking ear fins, tips and hooks here that can be combined freely, all in different sizes. If you want to carry them around, you can put them into an accessories case. The surface is grip-touch coated for a better feel and the earbuds will be sweat and water resistant, designed for an active, sportive lifestyle.
The Battery Life
The ELWN are said to have a runtime of 3 hours. You can extend the runtime by 100% when using the so-called infinity band, a wearable earbud charger with patent pending technology. The infinity band enables you to use the earbuds while charging, very neat! The other advantage of the band is that you can take out the earbuds and hang them around your neck if you want to. The Bluetooth 4.0 headphones receive a signal from any respective devices within a distance of 40 ft (ca 12m).
While of course the ELWN does have a microphone on board to receive phone calls, it puts its stress on the “always on” option. Since you can charge the earbuds while wearing and re-charge the infinity band afterwards, you can keep on with that cycle forever, i.e.: you will never need to put the earbuds off and have an actual infinite runtime!
We will see soon how these earbuds will be anticipated. The Kickstarter campaign will start mid-July, the early bird price is leveled ad 89 US$ with an estimated retail price of 189 US$.
